We’ve just launched our new band page at Facebook - it’s a good place to keep up with what’s happening, get videos and music and connect with other people who like our music.

hello again!
Just to remind you that I am the tall dark man in black who was responsible for the door at the Byron Bay Community Centre where we met last Friday 6/06/08. Thanks again for a memorable evening of very fine music: the last couple of years I have heard you on occasion being played on A.B.C. Classic F.M. so I had an idea of what to expect, however what a treat it was to at last see and hear you play live! The whole programme was a treat but I particularly enjoyed the two original pieces of Rob’s. I think by the resounding applause that seemed to last forever the audience agreed with me. I would only suggest that they deserve an even grander title to distinguish them from other people’s work that might also contain the word “Landscape”.
Sorry you had to race back to Brisbane– maybe the next time you are down this way it won’t be such a rush and we shall have the opportunity to show you a little of the world famous Byron hospitality.. Mary and I have regular Monday night music events at either her house or mine focused around the Yamaha U3 (there is one at each house, just in case you thought we might be shifting it around): it’s quite informal we never know who in going to turn up sometimes it’s very quiet and over by 10pm and other times the joint is jumping till midnight! All depends on who shows up. Needless to say, any member of Topology is always welcome. So do get in touch should you find yourself/s in the area on a Monday with a free evening.
As for the Steinway that we have at the community centre, there is only one thing wrong with it and that is she doesn’t get played enough. So perhaps we can put our heads together and think of a good excuse to get you down here again. Rob mentioned something about a government grant to help fund big city groups to come play at regional venues. So do let us know more about that. One thought we had was, how nice it would be to have Sunday afternoon concerts. In particular Kylie spoke of an idea she had of a piano based programme, which we would love to see get off the ground. Then of course, Michael and his band of gypsies (are there really 20 of them?) is always a mad thought, especially when you remember how small the dressing room is! To close, I’ll just send you a couple of phone numbers for your records in an email form so you can contact us should you wish.
Once again, thanks so much for the music.
Fond regards,
Albert. J. Atkins.
