Starting tonight - the most exciting date on the Australian musical calendar - the Restrung festival at the Brisbane Powerhouse. Not only is Europe’s best chamber group (yes, The Brodsky Quartet) doing several concerts, but a new idea of the orchestra will be born.

The Six Pack Symphony makes an orchestra by bringing together (from London and all over Australia) six tight, virtuosic ensembles: The Brodsky Quartet, Topology, Clocked Out Duo, David Chesworth Ensemble, Continuum Sax and Wood. Book your ticket quick here.
Each group contributes an original composition (all premieres) in this amazing concert (1 March). Then the following day, each group plays their own set in The Sunday Session (book here).
There’s also a huge lineup running the gamut of what’s happening in contemporary chamber music. FourPlay, Speed of Purple, Coda, Zhivago (excellent pop chamber music all), Tara Simmons, huge violin sound sculptures, new film from Miss Random and more and more. A heck of a lot of it is even free.
