16th July 2019
For Immediate Release:
After 48 shows throughout regional Queensland, Topology will perform Queensland at Home for the last time on Wednesday, 31st July at the Elizabeth Picture Theatre, Brisbane.
Queensland at Home is a unique performance of an original musical score by Topology’s Robert Davidson accompanying archival footage from the early 20th century (sourced from the State Library of Queensland) of Queenslanders engaging in everyday activities.
“The Queensland at Home production is by far the largest tour undertaken by Topology. Working with communities and students, we will have presented the performance in 45 towns around regional Queensland,” says Topology Creative Director Christa Powell.
“The live musical performance is like an old silent film experience with the music accompanying some amazing vintage films. This makes Queensland at Home an experience of both sight and sound.”
After more than 21 years on the scene, Topology has become known as one of Queensland’s finest arts organisations. ARIA-nominated, with 16 albums and countless tours and performances in Australia and overseas, Topology are a stalwart of Australian music.
